10 Fun things to do on a snow day 🌨

Hey guys, it’s Morgan!!! Back with a new winter post today on fun things to do on a snow day! Without further ado, let’s get started!

1. Bake!

I am a huge baker when it comes to the holiday season, so there is no better way to spend your snow day then to bake! I found a really cute recipe for a colossal cookie in an American Girl magazine. Hope you guys enjoy it!

Colossal Cookie 🍪

You’ll need:

Sugar cookie mix (or your favorite recipe)

1/3 cup white chocolate chips

1/2 cup butter, softened

2 tablespoons milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

First, we are going to bake the cookie crust. Prepare your dough and put it into a greased 12-inch pizza pan. Bake this on 375 for 10-15 minutes. Then, let it cool.

White Chocolate Frosting 😋

1. Microwave the white chocolate chips for 30 seconds on high. Stir them, then put them back in the microwave for another 30 seconds. Repeat this step until the chocolate chips are melted.

2. Place the butter (softened) in to a mixing bowl and sift powdered (confectionery) sugar on top of the butter. Use a spoon to mix until the mixture is creamy.

3. Add the melted white chocolate chips, milk and vanilla to the butter mixture. Mix for a minute with a mixer or until it is thick and creamy.

To finish it off, frost the cookie with the frosting and add some colorful sprinkles!

Then, EAT!

2. Get crafty!

Crafts are always a super fun thing to do when you get bored. But, doing winter themed ones are even better! Here’s a cute mason jar craft I found in an American Girl magazine!

Starlight Lantern ✨

You will need:

  • A mason jar
  • A small brush
  • Glow-in-the-dark paint

First, cover your workspace. Use the brush to paint little dots with the glow-in-the-dark paint on the out side of the mason jar. You can also paint little stars too! Then, leave the jar in the light, so once night rolls around, the jar will glow!

3. Get comfy!

Honestly, the best thing to do on a snowy day if you really don’t want to get up is make yourself a little fort and snuggle up on the couch with a movie 🍿Here are some good movie choices that will put a smile on your face 🙂

– High School Musical –

4. Paint your nails 💅🏽

This is a great thing to do if you are ALWAYS busy and never have time to go to the salon! Here is a cute nail idea I found in a nail book I got from Target 😁. The book is from the dollar spot and is called,  Nails! Creative DIY Nail Art Projects.

img_0420

Tools:
2 colors of nail polish of your choice

Clear top coat

Paper reinforcements, which are little circular rings you put on paper holes in a three ring binder.

Tweezers

Step one:

Apply one coat of nail polish (color of your choice) and let dry.

Step two: Apply a second coat and allow time to dry.

Step three:

Apply a clear coat and allow to dry for 20 minutes.

Step four: Carefully press the paper reinforcements down on the moon area (near the cuticle) of your nail.

Step five:

Paint with your second choice of polish on the top of your nail avoiding anything below the paper reinforcement. Allow nails to dry. Then, add a second coat.

Step 6:

When the polish has dried, use the tweezers to carefully remove the paper reinforcements from your nails.

Step 7:

Add a clear coat and allow the completed look to dry.

5. Take quizzes and play some games 🎮

A fun and relaxing thing to do when the weather outside is frightful, is take some quizzes and maybe play some games (but not all have to be video games!).
